LABORERS INTERNATIONAL UNION OF NORTH AMERICA LOCAL 435 ENDORSES JOE MORELLE FOR CONGRESS

Rochester, NY – Today, the Laborers International Union of North America Local 435 endorsed Joe Morelle in the race for the for the 25th Congressional District. Local 435 celebrates its 100th anniversary this year and represents almost 1,000 workers.

 

“Our members know that they can count on Joe to be a strong voice for working families in Washington," said Dan Kuntz, Business Manager, Laborers International Union of North America Local 435. "Joe shares our values, our aspirations for a strong and secure economy, and he has never stopped fighting to help our members achieve success. We know he will continue to carry on that fight on our behalf in Congress."

“From fighting for fair wages to expanding health coverage, I have been privileged to stand alongside the hardworking members of Laborers Local 435 throughout my career,” said Morelle. “Their members are some of the most dedicated workers in our community and I am truly grateful for their support. I will continue to be a tireless advocate on their behalf in Washington.”

 

Morelle, who currently serves as a state Assemblymember representing the towns of Brighton, Irondequoit and parts of the city of Rochester, has spent a lifetime in public service working to advance the best interests of his community. In the Assembly, Morelle has successfully fought for the passage of legislation to raise the minimum wage in New York State, establish paid family leave to ease the burden on our working families, improve access to healthcare for all people, bring millions of dollars in infrastructure improvements to our area, and increase workforce development training to ensure individuals have the skills and training they need to be successful.

 

Laborers International Union of North America Local 435 is the tenth union endorsement Morelle has received to date.
