NORTHEAST REGIONAL COUNCIL OF CARPENTERS ENDORSES JOE MORELLE FOR CONGRESS

April 12, 2018 | Press Release

Rochester, NY – Today, the Northeast Regional Council of Carpenters (NRCC) endorsed Joe Morelle for the 25th Congressional District. One of the largest trade unions on the East Coast, the NRCC represents thousands of men and women and equips them with the skills necessary to succeed in today’s construction industry.

“Joe Morelle has always prioritized working people over profit-driven special interests,” said Bill Banfield, New York Regional Manager, NRCC. “More than ever, we need leaders like Joe in Washington who will put our hardworking men and women first.”

“It has been my honor to stand alongside members of the Northeast Regional Council of Carpenters fighting for the things that matter most to workers: more job opportunities, a fair wage, and quality healthcare,” said Morelle. “Working families in Monroe County deserve a representative in Washington who truly represents their values. In Congress, I will continue to fight day-in and day-out to create a brighter future for our labor community.”

Morelle, who currently serves as a state Assemblymember representing the towns of Brighton, Irondequoit and parts of the city of Rochester, has spent a lifetime in public service working to advance the best interests of his community. In the Assembly, Morelle has successfully fought for the passage of legislation to raise the minimum wage in New York State, establish paid family leave to ease the burden on our working families, improve access to healthcare for all people, bring millions of dollars in infrastructure improvements to our area, and increase workforce development training to ensure individuals have the skills and training they need to be successful.

NRCC is the seventh union endorsement Morelle has received to date.
